In the past 3 years we have seen growing social media trends, with so called entrepreneurs flashing their sports cars, watches, private jets or penthouses in Dubai. The young generation has become mesmerised by such lifestyle and although they are benefits of successful businesses, they are lies.

Society is inclined to believe that entrepreneurship is about making as much money possible and blowing it off on luxurious lifestyles. And unfortunately most “entrepreneurs” nowadays start businesses with the aim of achieving that lifestyle rather than bringing change upon the world.

Speaking to successful entrepreneurs, you will quickly realise that they go through the hardships of starting a business for causes much bigger than themselves. Such as; developing an industry, bringing innovation to the market, sharing their talent and knowledge with the world and most importantly changing it for the better.

Being motivated by money will never allow you to be an entrepreneur, let alone build a successful business, for a simple reason. Entrepreneurs fall in love with the process of building, not its outcome. They never take any profits out for years as they understand that what is generated goes back into the business to allow it to grow and allow entrepreneurs to continue their process of creating. Entrepreneurs are selfless people, as they prioritise their business in life and the change that their business is capable of bringing onto society.

You don’t truly want to be an entrepreneur if what motivates you is money, but if you are motivated by hard work, creating, innovation, problem solving etc. you were born to create businesses and change the world.
